WHAT WILL YOU BE LEARNING

To successfully maneuver a yacht in tough conditions needs knowledge, experience, training but also talent. Throughout a skipper training course, you will practice all of the important maneuvers, in theory, as well as in practice.

Navigation using map and magnetic compass, as well as GPS.

Route planning strategies, storm tactics, crew psychology.

Practical sailing of a sailboat using sails and motor in any weather conditions

Usage of the propeller effect, rotation on the spot, night navigation without GPS, man-to-water maneuver.

Maneuvers in harbors, anchoring the yacht, usage of the VHF radio station.

Navigation, maintenance and ship supply rules.

Basic knowledge of meteorology and safety on board (MOB, rescue equipment, etc.)

Any other questions regarding sailing will be answered.

Where do the navigation courses take place?

The courses are taking place on board of our yachts in Marina Mandalina, Sibenik, Croatia. Throughout the week, we will sail throughout the surroundings following a flexible itinerary.
How do I get there?

The transport to the marina is individual, however we will help you find a parking space in case you are driving.
What will the accommodation be, throughout the week?

You will stay on board on one of our yachts, in a double bed cabin.
What is the schedule of the courses?

Throughout the first days, there will be a higher focus on theory especially in the first part of the days – applying it within the second part of the day. The exam will take place on Tuesday, followed by longer cruises after that.
What other costs should I expect?

On board, there will be fees throughout the week including the shared food/snacks, marinas and fuel – which are all being split between all members on the boat. The usual price does not go over 150€ per person.

What facilities do I have on board?

On board of our yachts you will benefit of unlimited wifi, electricity of 12V and 220V, music as you wish, a fully fitted kitchen, heating in each room and bathrooms, fridge and freezer and showers.
Who can I contact if I have additional questions?

The sailing instructor will be on board with you all throughout the course. Any question you may have, he will have the answers for you. You are welcomed to ask absolutely any questions in order to gain full clarity over this sport.
What kinds of courses does VogueYachting have to offer?

At the moment we have two types of courses: The course to attain the Category B permit (with radio permit included) and the advanced course for the students that have already gained their permit in the past. The two of them are differentiated by the experience. The first one is offered for absolute beginners, while the second in offered in order to help existing skippers to perfect their skills.
